“Sometimes the most scenic roads in life are the detours you didn’t mean to take” -Angela N. Blount
If you have the option of taking a plane or driving to your destination, nine out of ten times the answer should be driving. If you’re crunched for time or your destination is overseas, a plane is the most logical option. However, if you have the time and the means to drive, take my advice and give it a try. You won’t regret it. To make your decision even easier, I’ve listed 3 reasons why you should make the drive.
#1 – changes in scenery
Even if you aren’t traveling very far, topographic changes happen everywhere, and are beautiful to watch. From flatlands to mountains, or oceans to deserts, being able to watch the earth change in real time from the comfort of your car is an experience like no other.
#2 – stops along the way
The destination is only a small part of the journey. Wherever your headed, each stop along the way is it’s own separate adventure. When you take a car, you discover hidden quests that you wouldn’t know existed if you didn’t drive right past them.
#3 – politics, religion and the meaning of life
Hours upon hours of driving is the perfect time to solve all the world’s problems. Pondering all of life’s questions is best done on the open road with one or more close friends or relatives. A plane is for the destination. A car is for the memories.
